Cultural Festival

Hi families,
Here's your one-stop webpage for all Cultural Festival info!

Q: When is it?
A: Thursday, June 8 from 6:30-8:00pm

Q: Do we have to stay the whole time?
A: No, it's "open house" style.  Come when you can that evening -- after soccer practice, before getting ice-cream at Prince Pucklers, between track and violin, etc.  Come anytime between 6:30 and 8:00pm.

Q:  Does my child have to present his/her poster?
A:  No.  All the posters will be hanging around Roosevelt's walls.  It is a sight to behold.  You'll walk around and find your child's poster and definitely want to take a photo.  You can also browse the posters of other 6th graders.

Q:  Do we have to come?
A:  While attendance is not required, I highly encourage it.  All 150 6th graders at Roosevelt will have created a poster about their cultural or family topic.  They are hung all around the school, and during the Cultural Festival, families can walk around and see not only their own student's poster, but also all the hard work of their classmates.  It is a fabulous event and so wonderful to see all the different backgrounds and experiences in our Roosevelt community.

Q: Will my child be able to present his/her poster?
A: Yes!  Students will prepare speeches about their topics, and present them to classmates.

Q: Is my essay good enough yet?
A: Have you gone through the checklist?  (Scroll down a bit to see a copy of the checklist and ideas to help you create an effective lead.)

If you have other questions, please email me.  I'll post them up here.

Here is the calendar given to students:
